Kentucky : Administration

Kentucky is ranked 26th among the 50 states of U.S. and is located in East Central United States of America. Kentucky was added to the United States union in 1792 as the 15th state. Kentucky is one of the four U.S states to carry the term commonwealth. The executive branch of Kentucky is headed by the governor who serves as both head of state and head of government. The lieutenant governor may or may not have the executive authority. According to Kentucky’s constitution the lieutenant governor assumes the duties of the governor only f the governor is incapacitated. Other elected executive officers include: Secretary of State, Attorney General, Auditor of Public Accounts, State Treasure. The legislative branch of Kentucky is bicameral known as Kentucky general Assembly. The Senate is considered the upper house having 38-members which is led by the president of the Senate and the House of Representatives consists of 100-members headed by the speaker of the House. The judicial branch of Kentucky is known as the Kentucky Court of Justice and comprises court of limited jurisdiction courts called District Courts; courts of general jurisdiction called circuit Court, Kentucky Court of Appeals and Kentucky Supreme Court. The Kentucky Court of Justice is headed by the chief justice of the commonwealth.

Department for Natural Resources: The Department works through programs of education, funding and providing technical assistance to agencies in order to conserve Kentucky’s natural resources. The Department is responsible for inspection of mining and timber activities in the state.

Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet: The Cabinet works for development, promotion and preservation of the arts and heritage of the state and also develops for the travel and tourism opportunities within the state.
